CMCA's The Wanderer Reviews the Sherwood Conqueror 3.0
Read the whole review!
The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia has given the Sherwood Conqueror 3.0 a full review in the October 2026 issue of The Wanderer. The reviewer, Malcolm Street, spent time behind the wheel and then went through the motorhome room by room. Here is a summary of what they looked at, in our words. For the full piece, head to the magazine.
On the road
Malcolm Street drove the Conqueror 3.0 out of Sydney traffic and into hillier country, and came away impressed with how the Ford Ranger Super Duty base behaves. The V6 turbo diesel and 10-speed automatic were singled out as smooth and responsive, and the modern cab, with its large touchscreen, felt like a current vehicle rather than a conversion platform.
One point worth noting is how closely the factory electronics were integrated. Features such as the 360-degree camera and radar sensors work as Ford intended, which the reviewer called vital for safety.
Built for the rough stuff
The review pays attention to the structure. The timberless, insulated composite body with a one-piece roof, brush bar protection at the front, top and rear, an awning, work lights, an outdoor shower and a picnic table all feature. The wider Super Duty track also widens the interior, which the reviewer felt made a real difference once inside.
Inside
A double electric step makes getting aboard easy, and the layout has a few surprises for anyone used to ute-based motorhomes. The reviewer liked the bright interior, the big windows and the clever kitchen, including a microwave, grill and air fryer hidden on a slide-out cabinet at a comfortable height.
Bed choice also drew comment. Buyers can pick from three configurations, with lighting and cabinetry adjusted to suit whichever layout they choose. Exact bed sizes depend on the layout and fit-out, so ask the team for current dimensions.

Getting off grid
Malcolm Street called out the off-grid setup, with a large lithium battery bank, a solar array and generous water capacity, and noted that each part can be upgraded. They also appreciated the creative external storage and the separate bathroom with its choice of toilet.
The verdict
The reviewer described the Conqueror 3.0 as an impressive, go-anywhere motorhome with some design ideas other manufacturers are likely to follow. They were also upfront that it is not a budget motorhome, and that the price reflects what you get.
“a go-anywhere motorhome with all the comforts”
A note on specifications and price
