Suncamper: 45 Years of Building Australian Motorhomes
Suncamper was founded in 1977 by Peter Marshall in Brookvale, NSW. It started as a small operation fitting pop-top conversions to vans, and in the late 1970s began producing four-wheel drive campervans.
In 1989, Keith Harrison purchased the business and relocated it first to Mount Kuring-gai, then to its current home in Thornleigh, Sydney. Under Harrison's ownership, Suncamper grew from a cottage operation into a full-scale motorhome manufacturer with a loyal national customer base.
The Sherwood is now in its fourth decade of continuous production at Thornleigh, the longest-running model in Suncamper's history. Today the company builds motorhomes across three ranges: Sherwood (compact adventure, Toyota HiLux or Ford Ranger), Saxby (mid-size touring), and Sovereign (large luxury). All models use composite panel construction with zero timber.
Suncamper is 100% Australian owned and operated, holds a five-year warranty across the range, and has received the CCIA NSW Gold Award of Excellence. Manufacturing remains entirely at Thornleigh, NSW.
